Hello and Welcome
I graduated with my B.A. in History from the Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado in January 2000. I received my TeachingCredential from California State University, San Marcos in 2014. Since then I have had the privilege of working at Bear Valley Middle School as a Specialized Academic Instructor in the subjects of Math and Social Studies. My teaching philosophy takes root from a belief of a “Growth Mindset.” Carol Dweck, the author and developer of the Growth Mindset concept states, “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment,” My belief in a growth mindset has driven me to continuously work and grow both professionally and personally. On a personal note, I am the busy mom of two girls. Emma is 13 years old and Bella is 8 years old. My husband and I live in Escondido. We love being near the coast. Sailing and learning new activities such as surfing are some of the ways we enjoy our free time. We have an adorable pug named Roxy.
